The Union Public Service Commission has lately circulated its advertisement and invited applications from determined and enthusiastic Indian aspirants for the Civil Services Exam 2016 to be held on 7th August, 2016. Restriction of Age for UPSC Civil Service Exam :
The age of all applicants must either be above the minimum age of 21 years or below the maximum age of 32 years for being eligible to appear in this Exam which means the date of birth of all applicants must fall strictly between 02-08-1984 and 01-08-1995. However, the upper age limit shall be relaxed by 5 years and 3 years an case of ST/ SC/ J&K residents and OBC candidates respectively. Check official advertisement for more details.
It is compulsory for all applicants to be at least a Graduation Degree holder in any discipline from any University of repute which is also accredited by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions.
Registration Fee for UPSC Civil Service Exam 2016 :
For Unreserved Candidates: Rs.100/-
For ST/ SC/ PH/ Female Candidates: Free
This registration charge is to be remitted by means of cash at any if the branches of SBI or via online mode by using Net banking/ Visa/ Master Credit/ Debit Card.
Criteria of Selection:
The selection of applicants will rest entirely upon their performance in at the three successive stages of this exam, namely, Prelims Exam, Main Examination and an Interview.
Procedure of Application for UPSC Civil Service Exam :
The procedure of application for this Exam mainly consists of 2 parts. For the 1st part of registration, keen aspirants need to visit it UPSC official site- upsconline.nic.in and read the entire notification carefully. Then select the “Online Application for Various Examinations of UPSC” link and click on ‘Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination’. On the next page, click on ‘Part- I Registration’, go through the list of instructions available and click on “Yes” option at its end. Follow all the instructions and enter your valid details in the e-form without making any mistake. On completion, click on SUBMIT and you will receive a confirmation email as soon as you are registered successfully.
Now for the 2nd part of registration, applicants need to keep a scanned copy of their latest passport size photo and signature in the format as per the notification. Download a Copy of the SBI Challan form and proceed for the ‘Part- II Registration’ by depositing the above mentioned registration fee. Choose your preferred center for the Prelims Exam, upload soft copies of your photo and signature and finally click on SUBMIT. Applicants will then receive a system generated application receipt which must be kept carefully for future use.
